At Moreland & Associates Educational Consulting, LLC,
we offer personalized educational consulting services for students and families.
We guide you through the admissions process to discover best-fit colleges and independent day and boarding schools. We recognize students have different academic strengths, extra-curricular interests, talents, and aspirations. Parents also have expectations for their children’s education and are an important part of the selection process. Our goal is to help the student find the college or school that best fits their needs.
Missy Evans-Moreland, Founder, brings knowledge and expertise developed from over twenty years of working with colleges and independent schools. Her experience includes senior leadership roles in admission, development, and constituent relations at both the college and independent school levels. Through her engaging spirit, Missy confidently guides you through the admissions process.

About Missy:
Missy Evans-Moreland, founder and president of Moreland & Associates Educational Consulting, LLC, and is an experienced educational consultant with over 30 years in college admissions and independent school development. She has held senior roles at Trinity Washington University, Michigan State University, Towson University, and Notre Dame of Maryland University, as well as at Flint Hill School and the Gilman School.
A graduate in modern foreign languages with study abroad in Spain, Missy brings a global perspective to her work with students and families. She is a frequent speaker and active member of leading professional associations, including NACAC, IECA, HECA, and PCACAC. She was honored with the President’s Medal by Notre Dame of Maryland University and the Best of Bates College Award for her volunteer leadership. Missy continues to visit schools and colleges regularly and serves on the faculty of the PCACAC Summer Institute.
Rich Moreland, CPA, CFA
About Rich:
As a Senior Consultant, Finance at MAEC® (Moreland & Associates Educational Consulting) — founded in 2016—I bring over two decades of leadership in finance, accounting, and client service to help students and families successfully navigate the college admissions process. I provide hands-on support with financial aid strategies, including completion of the FAFSA and CSS Profile, and work closely with students to develop standout resumes and compelling college essays.
In parallel, I serve as part time Teaching Faculty at The St. Paul’s Schools (Brooklandville, MD), where I teach upper school students with a focus on history. My approach blends academic rigor with real-world perspective, rooted in a lifelong commitment to learning and mentorship.
Rich holds a B.A. from Miami University (OH) and an M.S.A. in Accounting from Georgetown University. He is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) and a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA®). His work is grounded in values of clarity, integrity, and service—ensuring students and families move forward with confidence and purpose.
Ned Moreland
About Ned:
Ned guides strategy at MAEC (Moreland & Associates Educational Consulting) and is an MBA candidate at the University of Chicago Booth School of Business. At MAEC, he advises strategic growth initiatives while maintaining the company’s personal approach. His work spans partnership development, community engagement, and business scaling.
Before joining MAEC, Ned spent six years at The Vanguard Group, collaborating across investing, technology, and business owner functions to deliver scalable solutions. This cross-functional experience informs his approach to strategy and leadership.
He earned a B.A. from Bates College, where he was a Senior Fellow in the Office of Admission, interviewing and mentoring prospective students. He also gained strategic admissions perspectives during his own MBA application journey and continues to support others pursuing top programs. While at Bates, he studied abroad at Doshisha University in Kyoto, Japan, where he focused on economic research.
Outside of work, Ned enjoys mentoring, playing ice hockey, and exploring the city of Chicago.
