Real Success Stories

Hear what our satisfied students and families have to say:

"Missy and Rich were an indispensable part of our son's college application process. Missy was incredibly generous with her time and expertise about the best college fit for our son. She met with him weekly, and met with my husband and me on a regular basis. Missy always made herself available and addressed our concerns with knowledge, professionalism and compassion. Missy and Rich also helped our son with his applications to ROTC, putting in extra work beyond the college applications. Rich, with his background in accounting, took the time to walk me through the FAFSA and LEAF applications. Our son is now at Loyola University of Maryland with an ample merit scholarship due to the strength of his application. Missy understood how to focus on our son's talents and strengths and this made all the difference for both the process and the outcome of applying to college."

Parent of Graduating Senior, 2025

“Working with Missy Moreland was the best investment I could have ever made for my daughter. The daunting college planning process became organized, non-stressful, and enjoyable. During Missy’s initial meeting with Caroline, we knew we were in the best of hands and with a professional who truly possessed a wealth of knowledge about the college application and admissions process. From individual meetings to phone, email and text check-ins, to strategic timeline planning, Missy was there for her. Her dedication to Caroline throughout the entire process was remarkable. The magic was in taking the process in small chunks, based on upcoming deadlines, with someone overseeing the process. Caroline was accepted as an Early Decision applicant to her first choice University and we could not be more proud.”

Parent of Senior, 2024

“We highly recommend working with Missy throughout your child's college application journey. She was instrumental in helping our child craft a well-balanced college list, identify appropriate target schools, and stay on top of every important deadline. The college application process can be incredibly stressful for both students and parents, but Missy's calm, steady guidance helped ease that pressure at every turn. Her support made a world of difference during an otherwise overwhelming time. You truly can’t go wrong with MAEC."

Parent of Graduating Senior, 2025

“I knew my career path was in Architecture and I knew I wanted to attend a school in the south. The college search process was initially fun, but very quickly became a huge stress event with the unexpected passing of my Dad, a robust class load, and SAT/ACT testing. Overwhelmed and stressed my Mother, who works full-time, knew we were going to need some assistance and she contacted Missy Moreland. Missy got to know me and understand my needs. She was very knowledgeable and was able to provide me with the focus and direction I needed. She kept me focused and on target for deadlines. She provided great advice for essay topics, interview preparation, and even exposed me to a few Colleges in the “North and Midwest” that she felt could be a perfect fit for me. Ironically, she was right and with a visit to a College in the Midwest (to appease my mother), I knew I was at the place I should be. I applied Early Decision, was accepted, and could not be any happier and excited. It was Missy’s insight into me as a person that resulted in a recommendation of a School not on my radar. For that alone, I am thankful.”

STUDENT, 2022

"MAEC supported us through all aspects of the entire college process with both our sons.  Missy took the time to get to know each of them both personally and academically.  As a result, she was able to guide them through the college search and selection process and find colleges that were an excellent match.  MAEC was especially thorough in ensuring our sons had several options, and that we all felt positive and supported throughout an otherwise overwhelming experience"

PARENT OF GRADUATING SENIOR, 2025

"We contacted Moreland & Associates Educational Consulting when our student was already a freshman in college and he realized he was not happy and wanted to transfer to another school. During the initial consultation Missy was easy to talk with, very professional, and it was clear she was knowledgeable regarding the college transfer process.

Missy worked with our son over the phone during the second half of his first semester at college and then in person over the winter break to help him clarify the characteristics of a college that would be a good fit for him.  After together identifying an appropriate set of schools Missy created a spreadsheet to help keep our son on task and on time with the various parts and deadlines of the transfer applications (i.e. essays, transcripts, letter of recommendation, etc.).  Missy checked in with him (and us) regularly throughout the process and was a caring, concerned and trustworthy third party our son could talk with as he worked on his transfer applications.

He was accepted as a transfer student at several schools and is now a much happier student and a junior at the University of Notre Dame.

Deciding to apply to transfer from one college to another can be an emotional and time-consuming ordeal.  We were delighted with the way Moreland & Associates Educational Consulting successfully guided our family through the process."
